Trust & Safety

Meera is a planning platform, not a travel merchant. You book direct with trusted partners. Here's exactly how your money, data, and trip details are handled.

You book direct with the partner — not with Meera.

Meera is a planning platform — not a merchant of record. When Meera finds you a flight, hotel, or experience, she hands you a one-click link to the trusted partner (Booking.com, Skyscanner, Expedia, GetYourGuide, Viator, and others). You complete the booking directly on the partner's site and your card is charged by them.

Meera never takes a cut of your travel spend. Our revenue comes from paid subscription plans (Pro and Business) and affiliate commissions from partners — disclosed on every booking link. The partner's price is the same price you'd see going direct.

Your payment to the partner is processed by their own checkout — Meera is never in the travel money flow. Any card details you save with Meera for a paid subscription are tokenized by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified; we never store your raw card numbers.

Free cancellation where the supplier offers it.

Many airlines and hotels offer free cancellation within a window — typically 24 hours for flights (US domestic), and anywhere from 24 hours to 7 days for hotels depending on the rate.

Before you click through to the partner to book, Meera shows you the cancellation policy in plain language: whether it's free, what the deadline is, and what penalty applies after that window closes. You never have to dig through fine print.

Meera adds no cancellation fees of its own. Cancellations are handled directly with the partner you booked with, under their published policy — Meera never marks up or interferes with that process.

Human support during your trip.

Meera's AI handles most questions instantly, but there are real people behind the scenes. If something goes wrong — a flight cancellation, a hotel issue, a billing question — you can reach the team by email at [email protected].

Response time target is under 4 hours for trip-day issues and under 12 hours for general enquiries. We're a small team and we'll tell you honestly if something is beyond our control — but we'll always help you figure out the next step.

Refund protection.

If your booking qualifies for a refund under the partner's policy, the partner issues the refund directly to your original payment method. Refunds from airlines typically take 5–10 business days; hotel refunds are usually faster.

Meera never charges you for travel — the partner does — so there's nothing for us to refund on the travel side. If you're on a paid Meera subscription, cancel anytime and the subscription ends at the end of your current billing period; prorated refunds are not standard but we'll handle mistakes on our end at no cost to you.

For disputes, contact [email protected] — or see our full refund policy.

Frequently asked questions

Who am I actually booking with?

You book directly with the travel partner — Booking.com, Skyscanner, Expedia, GetYourGuide, Viator, and other trusted providers. Meera is the planning tool that finds the option and hands you a one-click link. The partner is the merchant of record and your card is charged by them, not by Meera. Meera is never in the travel money flow.

What happens if my flight is cancelled?

If your airline cancels your flight, you're entitled to a full refund or rebooking under airline regulations (DOT rules in the US, EC 261 in Europe). Because you booked direct with the airline (via our partner link), you'll handle the refund or rebooking with them. Meera will still notify you via the Journey Companion and help you regenerate your plan. Contact [email protected] if you need help navigating the process.

How does Meera make money?

Two ways: paid subscription plans (Pro at $99/yr, Business at $49.99/mo) and affiliate commissions from travel partners — disclosed on every booking link. Meera does not mark up travel prices; the partner's price is the same price you'd see going direct. Meera never takes a cut of your travel spend.

Is my data sold?

No. Meera does not sell your personal data to third parties. Your travel preferences and booking history are used only to improve your experience with Meera — to remember your seat preferences, loyalty programs, and past trips. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected].

Can I plan without creating an account?

Yes. You can get a full itinerary from Meera without creating an account. If you want Meera to save your preferences or send you reminders once you've booked with a partner, she'll ask for your email — but this is lightweight, not a full account signup. If you return later with the same email, Meera will recognize you and restore your preferences.

What payment methods does Meera accept?

For Meera's paid subscription plans, we accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) via Stripe's PCI-compliant checkout. Cards are tokenized by Stripe — Meera never sees or stores your card numbers. Your payment to the travel partner is handled separately on their own checkout; Meera is never in that money flow.

What if my card is declined?

If your primary card is declined, Meera automatically tries your backup card. If both fail, you can enter a new card without restarting the booking. No need to re-select your trip or re-enter traveler details.

Can I cancel or modify a booking?

Yes, within the supplier's cancellation window. Meera shows the cancellation deadline before you book, and again in your booking confirmation. To cancel, open your booking in the Meera app and tap Cancel, or email [email protected]. Modifications (date changes, name corrections) depend on the supplier — Meera will tell you what's possible before you request a change.

How does Meera protect my personal information?

Meera uses AES-256 encryption for data at rest and TLS for data in transit. Your planning data is stored in the EU and US. Meera is GDPR compliant. We do not share your personal data with third parties except as needed to hand you to a booking partner (e.g., passing preference context through partner links). You can request a copy of your data or deletion at any time.

Is there a free trial for Meera Business?

Yes — Meera Business includes a 14-day free trial. No credit card required to start. After the trial, it's $49.99/month for your whole team (up to 25 employees), or $99.99/month for Business Plus (up to 100 employees). Cancel anytime.

What countries does Meera operate in?

Meera plans flights, hotels, and experiences in most countries worldwide and hands you one-click links to trusted booking partners. The web app and chat interfaces are available globally. Some features — like Slack integration and certain payment methods — may have regional limitations. Contact [email protected] if you have questions about a specific region.

Does Meera offer travel insurance?

Yes, Meera surfaces travel insurance options from trusted partners (World Nomads, Battleface) alongside your plan and hands you a one-click link to buy directly from them. Coverage includes trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and baggage loss. Meera shows you the policy terms before you click through — no surprise exclusions.
