Travel Tips
- Rent a car to explore beyond the tourist beaches
- Phang Nga Bay boat tours are best booked for early morning
- Old Phuket Town's Sunday Walking Street market (4-10pm) is excellent
- Avoid Patong if you want peace — head south to Kata, Nai Harn, or Rawai
- Thai massage on the beach is a must — prices are very reasonable
- Rainy season (May-October) has lower prices and fewer crowds
Getting There & Around
Renting a car or scooter is the most flexible option. Grab is available but coverage varies. Songthaews (shared trucks) run fixed routes cheaply. Tuk-tuks are expensive — negotiate hard. The airport is in the north; beach resorts are 30-60 minutes away. Longtail boats connect nearby islands.
